The Purpose

This is a season of celebration. For us, it means gathering with friends where we eat lots of food, bringing snacks to the office where we eat lots of food, and coming together as family where we once again eat lots of delicious food. While food is not why we celebrate, it certainly is an important part of our southern holiday tradition.

Traditions are fine as long as they don't get in the way of the true purpose. We are Christians, so in our home, this time of the year is about the birth of Jesus. As a student of leadership, I continue to be amazed at the life and legacy of Him. It is good to stop and honor his birth. It is better to see his followers live out their call to lead with love each day.

The purpose of Christmas is to honor the birth of the greatest leader who ever lived. Choose to lead like Jesus and you will make a difference in the lives of those you love, live with and lead.

Merry Christmas,
